Dresser-Rand business to supply compressor train for air separation plant in China

The Dresser-Rand business, a part of the Siemens Power and Gas Division, received an order from Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions Hangzhou Co., Ltd. for an innovative compressor train to be used in an air separation plant in China. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for July 2017, with commercial operation expected to commence in March 2018.
Located in Dalateqi (Inner Mongolia), the cryogenic air separation plant will supply industrial gases, including oxygen and nitrogen, to produce light hydrocarbon, a chemical widely used in the energy industry. The compressor train includes the newly-developed Siemens STC-SI main air compressor, an STC-GV (H) booster air compressor, and an SST-600 steam turbine. Siemens has been a preferred supplier to large air separation clients for more than 60 years.
“The new STC-SI compressor series was designed for high efficiency and reliability. It sets a new efficiency standard for large air separation plants and represents a breakthrough for Siemens and the Dresser-Rand business,” said Christopher Rossi, CEO of the Dresser-Rand business.
The STC-SI unit will be manufactured and tested in Duisburg, Germany. The order also creates local value, because the booster air compressor and the steam turbine will be manufactured in Siemens’ plant in Huludao, China.
